Life on Planet Cowgirl
''Life On Planet Cowgirl ''is the fourth studio album from independent Nashville singer-songwriter, Templeton Thompson. The album was released on November 3, 2009 on Reve Records/Connected At The Hit Productions. The album features the original album version of Thompson's song, "When I Get That Pony Rode." The song went on to be released in several different versions for several different projects. The song was released in 2013 as a separate single and achieved national success on CMT and Great American Country.
== Background ==
''Life On Planet Cowgirl'' finds Thompson at a very similar place as her previous, ''Girls & Horses ''album from three years earlier. It was after the release of this album that Thompson introduced her "hippie chic cowgirl" tagline and philosophy.
''Excerpt from the philosophy:'' "Dream big, work hard, have faith." Thompson and her husband, producer/musician Sam Gay launched a "Planet Cowgirl" clothing line. The clothing line featured several products which contained the "hippie chic cowgirl" philosophy, several also included song lyrics, and various other designs.
